Our client is seeking to appoint an Assistant Engineer to assist in the day to day running of the design and pre-contracts departments in the South West.

You will be responsible for design, estimating, planning, procurement, client liaison, assisting in the day to day technical issues. 

 

We are essentially looking for an ambitious graduate with a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working within a pre-contracts department ideally within a ground engineering / piling / foundations / groundworks contracting environment. Responsibilities include; 

 

• Piling / Reinforced Concrete / Residential / Restricted Access Design 

• Estimating and tendering 

• Reviewing enquiries 

• Requesting information from clients

• Carrying out site visits

• Liaison with clients

• Attending meetings with clients

• Preparations of designs for construction issue

• Ensure compliance with QA procedures, health & safety and statutory requirements

• Liaison with other members of staff and departments

• Handover of projects and assisting the operation team 

 

The Person:

 

• You will possess a relevant engineering degree (civil / structural / geotechnical)

• In addition you will also be encouraged to pursue Chartered Membership on our accredited I.C.E Scheme, if you are not already chartered

• Experience of working in the construction industry and familiar with a range of design methods to BS8004 and Eurocode 7

• Hands on experience within a reputable foundations / piling / ground engineering contractor
