Job Description:

Due to continued and sustained growth in the UK, the High Pressure Gas Connections / Processing / Waste / Metering team is now looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager to be responsible for the overall management and development of the division, including project delivery, maintenance agreements, technical and commercial positioning in the market, total product / systems ownership, providing technical and engineering support / advice to Clients, complete management current portfolio of projects and associated contracts. Additionally you will produce detailed business plans to support the further development of this specialist business unit, and ultimately be the Technical Lead for the division.

 

The Role

 

  • Responsible as the technical lead and industry specialist, which includes definition of optimum technical solutions for all projects, and management of the technical service delivery team including project delivery and service / maintenance agreements, thus ensuring projects, solutions and services are delivered on time and on budget
  • As Lead Engineering Compliance you will offer technical support to the Engineering team to ensure Gas Metering / Gas Entry Units are compliant in all respects to relevant Client and gas industry standards and specifications, including  Instrumentation, Electrical & Mechanical elements
  • Creating and co-ordinating the company’s product features, target price, promotion and placement within the UK market including its USP
  • You will understand comparative competitive advantages by preparing and executing market reports and carrying out relevant analysis such as market position and expectant EBIT
  • Internal stakeholder management of Sales, Procurement and Project Delivery Teams
  • Close collaboration with the bid management and sales function to ensure bids are submitted on time and are technically compliant
  • Setting, owning and managing KPI’s / SLA ‘s that calculate and evaluate service level performance relevant to solution and service delivery requirements
  • Lead to the UK Industry in appropriate forums and Client interactions
  • Effectively mapping the process management journey from the early stages of projects in line with the process structure and necessary documentation
  • Assist with the company’s continuous business improvement, innovation and new market penetration

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Person

 

  • A degree in an engineering discipline and relevant gas industry training and experience
  • Management experience of High Pressure Gas projects and ensuring applicable legislative and design criteria is applied
  • Strong understanding of High Pressure Gas Connections and Metering, including the design of complete CV analysis systems, the products and services available, as well as the Clients’ / potential Clients’ drivers
  • Strategic understanding of the commercial structure of the High Pressure Gas Connections and Metering markets
  • Proven track record of design and delivery of UK High Pressure Gas Metering projects
  • Proven track record of Product Management and associated processes
  • Understanding of the end to end process for delivering requirements to Clients in the UK High Pressure Gas market
  • Forging, developing and maintaining relationships with relevant Clients and suppliers in the UK High Pressure Gas
  • Experience in providing project support for major contracts and ensuring the company maintains regulatory compliance along with third accreditations such as BS EN ISO 9001: 2008, BS EN ISO 14001:2004 and Achilles UVDB ‘Verify’.
  • A good understanding of QA in the Gas industry with an established network of relevant stakeholders
  • Budget and P&L control experience
