Electrical Estimator
Working from a mixture of the Bristol offices (2-3 days per week) and from home, the successful candidate must possess demonstrable experience and technical electrical estimating expertise, up to and including 11kv.

Overview
Due to continued expansion and the commitment to sustained and profitable growth, our client now wishes to appoint a highly motivated and industry experienced Electrical Estimator for their LV / HV division. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the main purpose of this role will be to take responsibility for managing the development and production of highly competitive tenders and estimates for multiple or singular projects, ensuring maximum opportunity and minimum risk, and that clients and partners receive a high-quality service on time and to challenging budget requirements. The successful candidate will also contribute to all preconstruction activities, ensuring successful project acquisition and timely handover to operations. This role allows you the opportunity to work with high profile clients, and make it your own, as you will be involved in the early development stage of projects.
The Role
- Develop accurate estimates and manage bids for design and build projects, including large and more complex major schemes as well as ongoing long term framework contracts, ensuring that all client requirements and technical issues are fully considered
- Hold responsibility for option appraisals and identifying and applying alternative solutions to enhance bid profitability and the delivery of cost – value engineering proposals
- Prioritise and manage your own workload, maintain accurate records of tenders submitted, whilst interfacing with other internal teams
- Ensure all tenders are completed with the objective of ensuring accuracy, best value and competitiveness of estimate and accommodation of the supply chain critical path
- Providing accurate take offs and maintaining a high level of competency when preparing prime cost estimates
- Developing Value Engineered Proposals and providing innovation where applicable
- Managing client and key stakeholder requests in a professional and timely manner
The Person
- We are looking for you to bring your ability to prepare electrical tenders and estimates from drawings, designs or BoQ’s, and possess previous experience from LV to 11kv
- Possess strong commercial and business awareness to enable you to identify and recommend appropriate bid proposals that meet client needs
- Highly motivated and accurate, as attention to detail is vital, as is excellent numerical and IT skills
- Ideally offer a proven track record of securing works within the aforementioned sectors, and possess technical knowledge and broad scope expertise of the same
- Ideally possess the ability to evaluate design scope gaps on tenders
